Air Quality Alert Issued

An air quality alert is in effect for Crook, Grant, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, and Wheeler counties until Wednesday at 2 p.m. The National Weather Service reports that wildfires and forecasted conditions will push air quality to unhealthy levels. Pollutants from the smoke can irritate eyes, noses, and exacerbate heart and lung conditions. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities, keep children indoors, and avoid burning debris. For those with respiratory issues, additional caution is recommended.
