This fall, two pilot projects on several area rivers aim to improve fish harvest estimation by using voluntary catch reporting instead of traditional creel surveys. Anglers targeting hatchery steelhead are encouraged to participate by registering with Angler’s Atlas, using the MyCatch app, and adhering to Oregon fishing regulations. Participants could win prizes and help refine fishery management techniques. The projects will run until October 15.
