Brush Fires Claiming Thousands of Acres

The Falls fire in eastern Oregon has expanded to an incredible 120,900 acres, with containment now at just 15%. Firefighters are working to control the blaze, aided by cooler temperatures and heavy smoke. Evacuation notices remain in effect for Grant and Harney counties. Meanwhile, other significant fires in the state include the Lone Rock fire at 116,500 acres and the Durkee fire at 116,000 acres. A Red Flag warning is in place due to dry conditions and thunderstorms.
