A recent meeting at the district office of the La Grande School District discussed the concepts of emergency management in schools, specifically focusing on how to deal with a leak of dangerous chlorine gas if a truck carrying the deadly substance were to rupture near the school. It was noted at the meeting, that the La Grande School District has a very tight relationship with local police and fire agencies… a strength that would help in a situation like that, for which they have practiced.
