Tower Mountain Pack Wolf Eliminated

Last week, federal wildlife officials killed an adult female wolf from the Tower Mountain Pack in Union County. That came following attacks on six sheep and a sheep protection dog by wolves from the pack earlier this month. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife authorized the culling after those incidents, which occurred on July 2 in the Fly Creek area south of Starkey. The killing aims to mitigate further livestock losses while maintaining balance between wildlife and agricultural interests.
