A New Option for Oregon Taxpayers

Oregon taxpayers will soon have a new option for filing their taxes next year, thanks to a pioneering initiative by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the IRS. Starting in the 2025 filing season, Oregon will become the first state to offer IRS Direct File, a free online tax preparation and filing tool. The move aims to streamline the tax process, ensuring that taxpayers receive all eligible benefits and deductions. Approximately 580,000 Oregon residents are expected to benefit from the initiative.
