Oregon’s meat-processing sector is set for a boost with substantial investments from the state, benefitting ranchers in Northeast Oregon. The Oregon Department of Agriculture has allocated $8.6 million to 14 meat-processing businesses, including Hines Meat in La Grande. The aim is to expand meat-processing capacity statewide, especially for Oregon-raised livestock.
