In Grant County, evacuation zones have been updated due to the Rail Ridge Fire. As of yesterday, the Level 1 evacuation zone north of County Road 67 and west of Alder Street had been upgraded to Level 2. This means residents should be prepared to evacuate if conditions worsen. Areas south of Highway 26 are also under a Level 2 alert. The American Red Cross has opened a temporary evacuation point at Mt. Vernon Community Hall.
