On Saturday, Eastern Oregon will host the inaugural “Fill the Combat Boot” event, a collaboration between the Pacific Northwest Veterans Alliance and the Fair Housing Council of Oregon. This fundraiser aims to assist local veterans across Eastern Oregon by collecting donations at four designated locations: Umatilla next to City Hall, Hermiston in front of Smitty’s Ace Hardware, Pendleton at the Promise Inn, and the La Grande Safeway. Volunteers are encouraged to participate, and donations can be made directly to the PNW Veterans Alliance for those unable to attend.
