Salmon Fishing Starts March 1st

Fishery managers from Oregon and Washington have set the initial spring Chinook salmon fishing season dates for the Columbia River. Starting March 1 downstream of Bonneville Dam and April 1 upstream, anglers can reel in two adult hatchery salmonids per day, with only one allowed to be a Chinook. Shad retention is also permitted. The river will open for fishing between Buoy 10 and the Oregon/Washington border.
