Body of Missing Fisherman Recovered

The body of a man from Granite who went through the ice while fishing at Phillips Reservoir has been recovered. The Baker County Sheriff’s Office says 69 year old Mark Norenberg of Granite, Oregon drowned while ice fishing. After sawing channels in the ice, and then using boats, search and rescuers located the body of Norenberg, and divers were sent in to perform the recovery. The Baker County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Baker County Search and Rescue, Greater Bowen Valley Rural Fire Protection District, Powder River Rural Fire Protection District, Baker County Emergency Management, and the numerous friends and family members of Mark Norenberg.
