It looks like Baker City is on the verge of having a new city manager. City council met the day after Christmas, and voted unanimously to formally offer the job… contingent upon negotiating a contract… to Barry Murphy, a former Air Force pilot who most recently was wing commander for the 8th Fighter Wing based in South Korea. The contract of current interim city manager Jon France ends on December 28.
